Asakusa is really famous for education-related omamori, especially for passing entrance examinations at big universities, so you can imagine the crowds at the temple.

We made another stop at Ikebukuro, which was a good idea because we managed to catch the tail end of Tokyu Hands Ikebukuro’s Cat Festival — where a lot of independent creators and small ateliers made catcentric merch that was like catnip for me ❤

Too much rich food over the past couple of days made me crave something a bit simpler — so gyudon it was for lunch. Not Yoshinoya though, because there are so many better options in Tokyo, like Matsuya or Sukiya ^^;;

The rest of the day was spent noshing on doughnuts, takoyaki, and every possible kind of chicken dish they have come up with in Hokkaido. I can already feel my waistline expanding :/

While traveling to Japan for work sounds like a lot of fun, it’s really a lot of stress and I don’t want to do it too often that it kills the joy out of going to Japan on holiday 😀
