AKB48 have successfully launched their new concept store in Singapore’s *SCAPE last 15th May 2011.

Iwasa Misaki, Komori Mika and Miyazaki Miho — members of the phenomenal Japanese girl group, have flown in especially to open the doors of one of the very few official AKB48 shops outside of Japan, to crowds of adoring fans.

The queues that stretched the length of the newly renovated pop culture space *SCAPE — just steps from Singapore’s famed Orchard Road shopping district, attest to the girls’ popularity.

True to form, AKB48’s massive following in Singapore and in the neighboring countries of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand have also come together for the very first of what will be a series of concerts for the girls in the Lion City. The second set of performances will be on 29th May 2011, with tickets available now on the Official AKB48 SIngapore website
