We were able to drop by for a couple of minutes to check out what was going on. There were the typical array of booths selling anime merchandise, model kits, comic books, and toys and collectibles. Personally, I thought there was a good mix since not only did we see the usual suspects (including fake DVD guy, unfortunately), but there were also more unusual booths such as one selling Coke collectibles and another one with old photographs and out-of-print currency on sale.

Saturday’s line-up was mostly for the K-pop set, with song-and-dance and group dance contests. Not my thing I have to say, so I didn’t pay too much attention to what was going on onstage. I was much more interested in scouring the shelves for interesting knick-knacks that you didn’t usually see elsewhere. I managed to score a Japanese Harry Potter collectible from one of the booths which I was pretty pleased with — so that’s something, right?

We’ll be back tomorrow to have a look-see at the cosplay competition. I expect the crowds to be much worse tomorrow than today, so everyone please come prepared. See you guys there!

kpop fans are scary. my friends and I could barely hear each other over all the screeching. random passers-by probably thought that some really big time celebrities were having a show there.

ditto :/ you know what else is disconcerting? some of the k-pop event competitors were carrying on as if they were actual korean pop stars. uhhhhh, no?! :/
