Amuro Meets Tatsunoko Coke Zero

Tatsunoko — the legendary Japanese animation house who produced Gatchaman, Mach Go Go Go, and a host of other iconic 80s properties, has tied up with pop singer Amuro Namie to produce an anime-style mascot based on herself.

The project — entitled “Amuro Meets Tatsunoko!”, has produced a Tatsunoko-inspired likeness of the Japanese pop sensation that will be emblazoned on special cans of Coke Zero, as well as tour goods and other fan merchandise from Amuro’s “Past < Future" nationwide tour.

Namie Amuro is the current spokesperson for Coke Zero, and her international ad campaign has made it to Philippine shores. Alongside television advertisements, her face has also been plastered on roadside billboards, city underpasses, and mall hallway adverts. This phenomenon of featuring Japanese pop stars in Filipino ads has never been seen before, and this will hopefully pave the way for more awareness of Japanese pop music in the Philippines.

Great! Wish we could also have those Coke cans here in the Philippines. 🙂
And I do hope they don’t overdo her fame like what they had done at Taiwanese and K-pop sensations.

  2. local advertisers do have a tendency to overdo things, so here’s to hoping they hold back a little with this campaign >.>
