Happy New Year, Happy New Look!

magnetic-rose.net

Happy New Year, guys! As much as I loved our previous layout (I loved it so much I kept it for over a year), I felt it was a good time to usher in some changes to the site. So we’ll get started with a gorgeous new makeover for magnetic-rose.net, courtesy of Yoko by Elmastudio.

The new layout scales automatically from a full three-column spread for computer screens, to a compact two-column display for tablets, and all the way to a compressed one-column display for smart phones — which is fantastic since that means that the mobile version will be just as rewarding an experience as the full site.

Another improvement for the front end is the integration of Google fonts — Droid Sans and Droid Serif. Having personally switched over from Firefox to Chrome the improvement is astounding, so the new fonts were a really good idea.

Last but not least, we finally have nested comments. Yeah — it’s nothing new, but our previous layout (enamored as I was with pixel-perfect columns) was not able to support it, so this is a really big deal for me. I hope it improves the user experience for our commentators, and encourages them to leave more comments 😀

Next up is something really exciting for you guys — so watch out for it in the next couple of days. Cheers!
