Inori: Ongaku Society Gives Back took place last weekend — 2nd April 2011, at Androsia, Timog Avenue, Quezon City, to raise funds for the victims of the Tohoku / Kantou Earthquake andTsunami of March 2011. Proceeds of the event will be sent to the Japan Red Cross Society via direct deposit to their SMBC bank account in Tokyo, Japan.
The event is supported by both the Japan Foundation Manila and the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines via the Japan Information & Cultural Centre. The event started off with the entire community joining hands and offering one minute of silence for all the departed, the missing, the injured, and the displaced by the terrible tragedy in Japan.
The music started flowing soon after that, with performances by Himitsu Heiki, Dolores, Moonspeak, Asian Chicken Fest, Onigiri Infusion, Lathala and Roxy Redlights. Also at the event was the OS Mods Garage Sale and Auctions and the Charity Bucket, where additional funds were raised to include in the donation fund.
The event raised over PhP 15,000 in cash for the fund. Donations are still pouring in from other folks who missed the event, so a complete tally will be posted in about a week’s time. Congratulations to Ongaku Society — to all the moderators, members, and supporters! See you at the next gig!
