Christmas is a little over four days away, and if you still haven’t found the perfect present for your lens-addicted, portable studio-toting, cosplay photo hound friend, we’ve got the perfect thing for you.
Found in the dark underbelly of CTMA Center, in Hong Kong’s famous shopping black hole Mongkok, is the legendary (or infamous, depending on how you look at it) Nikon lens cup.
The Nikon lens cup is a stainless steel cup for holding hot or cold drinks, housed a plastic body that mimics your favorite Nikkor lens. It comes in a variety of sizes, from 24-70 mm to 70-200 mm. Some models even have the telescoping action you get from a real lens, although it does not affect the carrying capacity of the cup in any way (the volume of the stainless vessel inside the cup does not change).
Stored in its Nikkor-esque brushed gold box, it’s a fantastic prank gift for your photog friends. It’s also quite practical as they can use it to store bits and bobs like lens pens, microfiber wipes, or spare SD cards, if they choose not to fill it with coffee. Cup lenses are also available in Canon models — grab one today! 😀

Been wanting to get one for my tita. Nikon user eh hehe. Hopefully I can find one before she leaves for the holidays.
