Singapore Toy, Games, and Comics Convention 2010

The Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention is one of the biggest pop culture events in South East Asia, combining the best in American superhero comics, Japanese anime, Euro-pop designer toys, and everything else in between.

STGCC will be taking place at the Suntec City Convention Center from the 10th to the 12th of December 2010. STGCC is organized by Reed Exhibitions, organizers of the New York Comic Con and the New York Anime Festival.

The Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention features a star-studded line-up of comic book luminaries, toy design cult heroes, and J-pop royalty.

Marvel Comics international talent scout C.B. Cebulski, Marvel illustrator Leinil Yu (Wolverine, X-Men, Fantastic Four), as well as DC Comics’ David Lloyd (V for Vendetta) will be meeting comics fans and sharing secrets on how to get started in the comic book industry.

Also in attendance are designer toy creators Simone Legno (Tokidoki), Mori Chack (Gloomy Bear), Koto Nishiyama and Shinichiro Kitai (DEVILROBOTS), Tim Tsui (Da TeamBronx) and Jason Siu (Monkey Playground). Collectors can their hands on exclusive merchandise such as Tokidoki’s Unicorno series and BE@RBRICKS x Uglydolls by Action City at the STGCC product launches.

Fans of Japanese super-idol group AKB48 will be treated to a special performance and meet-and-greet event. Conceptualized as an idol group that you can meet everyday, the 48-strong girl group holds daily performances at their own theatre in Tokyo’s Akihabara, as well as store appearances, tv programme segments, and other fan events.
