TV5 Pulls Plug on AniMega Block

TV5 New Schedule

Mere months after the channel’s massive reformat and grand launch party as the nation’s biggest broadcaster of Japanese anime shows on terrestial TV, TV5 has pulled the plug on its primetime anime block.

According to a leaked copy of the channel’s new broadcast schedule, as well as reports on social networking site Facebook, many of their Tagalog-dubbed Japanese anime shows have been axed in favor of Korean soap operas.

The channel — which dubs itself “The REAL Anime Authority”, has not yet responded to messages on their Facebook account written by irate fans who have been left in the dark about the new programming schedule. Thier lack of reaction is in contrast to the behaviour of their chief rivals ABS-CBN 2, who quickly responded to fan complaints after their airing of the Gintama tv anime series ran into trouble.
