ANN has news that a live-action film based on Fujiyama Hyouta’s BL manga series Junjou has been officially announced on the Japanese-only Frontier Works website. However, there has been no word yet on a possible release date.
The film will star Kamen Rider Hibiki’s Tochihara Rakuto and Hana Zakari no Kimitachi e: Ikemen Paradise’s Takahashi Yuuta. Kaneda Satoshi of Ai no Kotodama fame will be at the helm of the script adapted from the three-volume manga series by Kobayashi Hirotoshi and Kozuru.
Junjou tells the story of Tozaki and Kurata, who briefly went to high school together. Unbeknownst to Kurata, Tozaki was harboring feelings for him, but did not confess even after Kurata suddenly switched schools.
They meet again years later, where Kurata confronts Tozaki with the knowledge that he was aware of Tozaki’s feelings, and Kurata uses it as leverage to force Tozaki into sleeping with him.
The series has been licensed into English by DMP’s June imprint as of last year.
