You must be wondering why this particular blog post is… well… frillier than usual. Nope, nothing’s wrong, and in fact, everything’s just peachy, so you can put the phone down now, and please do call off the SWAT team. It just so happened that your resident webmistress has stepped out for a bit and has given us this golden opportunity to frolic upon her site’s front page.
So, coming straight from the pancake and pan de coco castles of Manila, this is The LoliDudes, bringing you today’s dose of cheer and joy! o/
So, let’s see. To be honest, when Miss Magnetic Rose informed us of this chance that she’s giving us to appear on her blog, we were rather floored, and we worried for quite a while if we would be able to come up with ANYTHING which would follow her tradition of posting about things which were both informative and uniquely-local-otaku-flavored… while not scaring everybody away. Much.
And then it hit us. Some time ago, another friend has shared with us an article about popular poses which Asians do whenever they have their photos taken. It seemed like so much fun AND it was distinctly Asian, so we figured, what the heck?
And so, calling upon that deep, primal energy which grants people the uncanny ability to detect a camera pointed at them from three miles away (which also causes them to turn and smile, just in time, no matter WHAT they’re doing…), we went ahead and took some Asian Poses 101 lessons.
Of course, since this was a special event, we had some preparing to do. We wouldn’t dream of handing over anything sub par to the blog owner who graciously welcomed us into her realm. And so off to the Land of Pink (aka, Marikina) we went to get our new dresses from the fabulous Aleng Belen. On top of that, through the magic of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, we also managed to get the glamorous Miss Lila Almario to design the shoes to go with the dresses. After all, what proper loli would be caught in a dress with no matching shoes?
And yes, ladies, that’s THE Lila Almario, premier Filipino shoe designer extraordinaire. But that’s for another, future blog post. :3
In any case, at the cost of terrorizing another hapless friend’s neighbors, here are the results of our labor of love. We hope you like it, because we sure enjoyed making it. And seriously, you can call off the SWAT team now. Really.
