magnetic-rose.net is in need of an Intern to contribute articles and cover Manila-based events for a multi-awarded and internationally-recognized Japanese pop culture blog.

Primary Responsibilities

– contribution of at least 10 top-quality, on-topic posts to the blog
– live- and post-event coverage of Manila-based partner cons
– other minor admin tasks

Requirements

– a fan of Japanese pop culture who is free mainly on weekends to attend partner cons in and around Metro Manila
– can keep up with the latest news on Japanese pop culture and create meaningful content tailored for local consumption
– has a stable mobile internet connection and a mid- to high-end smartphone capable of doing live event coverage via social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and/or Periscope)
– must have excellent grasp of English; Japanese language ability is a definite plus!
– must be familiar with WordPress; basic HTML and CSS skills are an advantage!
– is a discreet and diplomatic individual who gets along well with con organizers, fellow bloggers, and other fans
– in the interest of representation in the anime and cosplay blogging community, individuals who identify as women are preferred

Compensation

– meal, transportation, and telco allowance
– free admission to partner events
