EGOIST is a Japanese band patterned after a fictional band of the same name from the hit anime “Guilty Crown”. They performed the theme song in a tie-up with TV anime “PSYCHO-PASS”, a collaboration that has continued for both seasons. EGOIST consists of producer ryo (supercell) and vocalist chelly, and this is their first solo gig in the Garden City of Singapore!
EGOIST concerts are extraordinary affairs that use futuristic 3DCG technology, to bring chelly’s alter-ego Inori to life! Inori performs onstage in real-time as she moves in tandem to chelly’s own movements. With improvements to this “Virtual Live” system, this is one concert experience not to be missed!

While the technology used for the concert was certainly impressive, a minor technical glitch in the middle of the main set saw chelly emceeing for what one of the organizers said was “the longest fifteen minutes of my life”. However, this did not detract from the performance (on the contrary, it just added an additional layer of authenticity to the whole experience!), and chelly’s ethereal vocals continued to soar in the darkness of the music hall.
The concert ended in a high note, with an extended encore that saw chelly finally switch to Inori’s signature Goldfish costume. After another set of songs and two final emcees, chelly bade goodblye to her Singapore fans, with a promise to return very soon. If you missed this gig, there are other chances to catch EGOIST live again very soon! Watch out for the next stop in their Asia tour with a live gig in Shanghai on 3rd October 2015!
