Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut “Unbroken” tells the story of former USA Olympian and WWII survivor Louis Zamperini, who was incarcerated in a series of Japanese POW camps after his plane crash and subsequent capture. The film stars Jack O’Connell, Garrett Hedlund, and Domhnall Gleeson.
Most importantly, however, the film stars Japanese visual-kei rock star MIYAVI — who covered up his signature body art, natural prettiness (yes, prettiness!), and sultry sex appeal to play sadistic Japanese POW warden Mutsuhiro Watanabe. I can already hear the fangirls protesting — but hey, this could be intriguing!

Unbroken is based on the 2010 non-fiction book by Laura Hillenbrand entitled “Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption”. The film is slated for a 25th December 2014 worldwide premiere, however there is no word yet on its Philippine release.
