Free Anime Film Showing This Philippines-Japan Friendship Month!

The Embassy of Japan on the Philippines is delighted to announce an exciting weekend filled with anime in celebration of the 2012 Philippines-Japan Friendship Month!

Head on over to Cinema 6 at the SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City to watch two fantastic films: Full Metal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos (21st July 2012 at 19:00 PM), and Detective Conan: The Lost Ship in the Sky (22nd July 2012 at 11:00 AM and 13:00 PM).

Admission is absolutely free!

Full Metal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos brings characters from the beloved manga and anime series to new adventures against a werewolf-like chimera, an army of winged soldiers, an alchemist with a talent in water transmutations, and a mysterious castle named Table City.

In Detective Conan: The Lost Ship, Conan his eyes set on the famed “Lady of the Sky” jewel aboard Bell 3, the largest airship in the world. However, a mysterious terrorist group called Red Shamu-neko has hijacked the airship, taking prisoner all its passengers including Conan and his allies Kogoro and Ran.

    Is this the first time the Japan Foundation offered free anime screening (outside of Eiga Sai)?

    1. No — I believe they also offered free screenings at schools, colleges, and universities in Manila, Baguio, Cebu, and Davao.
