Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention 2012

Join comic fans, vinyl toy collectors, and Vocaloid enthusiasts at one of the biggest pop culture events in South East Asia — the Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention 2012! STGCC will be held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center at fabulous Marina Bay Sands on the 1st and 2nd of September 2012.

A veritable who’s who from both East and West will be gracing the halls this year — including Marvel Comics illustrator Mark Brooks, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles illustrator Mark Torres, and kaiju illustrator and toy designer Mark Nagata.

Tristan Eaton and The Beast Brothers, designer vinyl specialists who have been blowing fans away with their Dunny and Munny toys by Kidrobot, will be at STGCC for the very first time this year. Tokidoki creator Simone Legno will also be attending, bringing more of his Harajuku-inspired design sense to his adoring female fans.

Japanese vocaloid deejay group ZANEEDS will be on hand to release more music (hopefully another Singapore exclusive is in the works!), plus Cosmode honcho and World Cosplay Summit big-wig Tadaaki “Jacky” Dosai is back in town for the inside track on top-level cosplay.

“This year, we want to showcase more aspects of pop culture from both East and West. Our fans can expect a greater mish-mash of personalities, exhibitors and offerings that will span across mass and niche segments of pop culture, including more cult toy designers and illustrators which fans have been asking for,” said Ms. Yeow Hui Leng, Project Director for STGCC and part of Reed Exhibitions — who also organize the New York Comic Con (NYCC).

Tickets this year are priced at SGD 15 for a 1-day pass and SGD 25 for a two-day pass. VIP tickets are also avaialbe at SGD 50 per ticket.
