The very first Philippine event dedicated to Vocaloid — Voca★Fusion, will take place on 20th May 2012 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City!

Vocaloid is a voice synthesizer software by Yamaha, that users can manipulate to sing original and cover songs. Voice packets created by licensed third-party companies such as Crypton Future Media (Hatsune Miku, etc.) and Internet Co. Ltd (Kamui Gakupo, etc.) allow users to customize the experience.

The beauty of Vocaloid is that composers own the rights to the songs they produce, as do the character designers and PV directors involved in the production of each song. This has led to an explosion of material from different creators, who have embraced the new medium as one of the ultimate forms of user-based content creation.

The organizers of Voca★Fusion would like to channel and celebrate that same creativity locally with their first con. The event will feature music production panels, band performances, art contests, cosplay, fan merchandise, and so much more.

The event will also play host to original track producers and Vocaloid cover singers from all over Asia — including Osamuraisan (Japan), That (Japan), Rerulili/ToushahiP (Japan), and Min-chan (Indonesia). There will also be a special appearance by Singapore cosplayer Jesuke.
