As announced earlier, Singapore’s AKB48 Theatre will be opening soon — but that’s not all! Alongside the new theatre at Orchard Link’s *SCAPE Warehouse is an official AKB48 shop and cafe, that will cater to all AKB48 fans in South East Asia.

The AKB48 Singapore Concept Shop will be officially launched 14th May 2011, where several lucky fans will have a chance to meet and greet selected AKB48 members. The 360 square-foot retail space will feature official apparel and accessories, AKB48-branded school and office supplies, as well as home and lifestyle products with unique AKB48 appeal.

The AKB48 Café on the other hand is scheduled for opening in June 2011, and will feature fusion Japanese cuisine and Japanese-style French pastries and desserts, especially concocted with the girls and their fans in mind. There is even a mini-stage inside the cafe to host karaoke parties and dance events, or even surprise performances by the AKB48 team members themselves.

So why beat yourself up over not being able to secure a Japanese visa, or bemoaning the fact that a trip to Tokyo can be prohibitively expensive?
