After the success of last year’s event, Singapore’s Gundam Fiesta will again be held this year, from the 1st to the 13th of September 2010 at the Compass Point Shopping Center. 2010 Gundam Fiesta will feature exhibits, activities, sales, freebies, and raffle promos for Gunpla enthusiasts in Singapore and surrounding areas.
Some of the highlights of the exhibition include a 1:1 scale model of Gundam RX78’s hand (a massive three by four meters!), an expansive battle diorama involving over 600 Sangokuden figures, and manufacturer dioramas shipped directly from Japan’s Bandai Hobby Center exclusively for this event.
In addition to Gunpla workshops held daily at the Fiesta, a special demo by MG Series creator Kawaguchi Katsumi will also take place on the 11th and 12th of September. The master modeler will give tips and show techniques on Gunpla assembly to benefit all collectors –from snap-kit beginners to custom modelers.
Special merchandise not found in stores will also be available at the event — including a 1/100 Gundam 00 Riaser clear version, and a 1/144 HG Metallic Exia Gundam R2. Last but not least, every SGD 50 spent at the event nets you a ticket for the raffle draw, where the grand prize is a trip to Japan to visit the 1:1 scale model of the RX78 in Shizuoka Prefecture.
