magnetic-rose.net — in cooperation with Cosplay.PH, will beholding a Ladies Yukata Workshop at Cosplay Mania X. CMX will be held on the 2nd and 3rd of October 2010, at Function Room 5 of the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
The Ladies Yukata Workshop will cover all the basics of wearing a yukata, including proper fit and fall, correct himo and obi tying, and acceptable footwear. The Workshop will also discuss topics on how to properly care for yukata — such as laundry tips, how to fold your yukata for storage, and proper storage techniques.
Ladies who will be taking part in the workshop are encouraged to bring their yukata sets for a hands-on experience. They are also asked to come in or bring proper attire for their comfort and convenience: a white tank top or t-shirt (ladies fit or baby tees preferred), and shorts (no denim shorts please). The Workshop will also be held barefoot so all shoes must be removed and left by the door upon entering the seminar room.

….awww shucks, just remembered i don’t have a yukata yet >.> but i did see a set for sale in cubaoX before…hmmmm. (btw, is there an option for those like me who are interested in learning the art but is without a set, e.g. yukata rentals during the workshop? just a thought ms rotch, :P).
also, is there a deadline to registration?and will the workshop be the whole of sat and sun?

i’m not sure i’ll be able to bring extras to lend out to girls who do not have their own sets 😦 i’ll see but i’m not making any promises.
the workshop will be for one day only. the CMX people will inform me later on which date the workshop will be. registration will be on the spot 🙂

I lost my himo when I lent my yukata set to the org… (also, one of my obi *sad*)
So I only have a yukata and an obi, will that do?

so sorry to hear about your list items, zane 😦 anyway, you can substitute wide satin ribbon (the fabric kind used to trim dresses and wrap gifts with) for ohimo — they should work just fine 🙂 measure them out so they go around your waist two and a half times and you’re good to go 🙂

^ Hey, that’s helpful. I have the same problem, only mine’s because I was only given the obi and the yukata itself. I do have this long string (kind of like the one used for drawstring bags) that’s really long. Hope that works hehe.
