Yue is one of our Japanese friends whose lived in the Philippines for a very long time. She loves games and anime and has a huge toy collection, which she always shares with us because she is just too darned nice ❤ I managed to bug her into doing a quick interview for the site, and she’s been so generous to reply even if she is very busy with the new family business 😀

How did your collection start?

Ok, this is going to be long (;^^)
I first saw Pinky:st. on 2004 Feb issue of an anime magazine, “Newtype”.
It was a figure new release page & they were featuring about “Neon Genesis Evangelion – Rei & Asuka” from the Pinky:Cos line.
Me and my little sister were huge fan of that anime and had a “love at a 1st sight” to the well deformed and designed girls.
But at that time, we thought its impossible to buy it localｌy… so we decided to forget about it (and we really did LOL)

Then one day (according to my blog, its June 2004), I went to Greenhills with my sister & my friends.
Every time I visit there, I always check Great Toys, a local figure/hobby shop.
And there, we found Eva Pinky:cos!
Of course I bought it (I bought it with my sister. We always share collections).
From that day, I started as a Pinky collector (And I’ll never forget it).

Later at Aug 2004, I was able to buy “Acchi Kocchi Pinky Street”, which was again from Great Toys.
On the same month, I started a small Pinky fan site.
There’s nothing special… just some Pinky lists from my collection, and a photo blog of my girls.

Also, I started joining Pinky:st. forums and visiting various Pinky fan sites.
Because of that, I made a lot of good friends locally and in Japan.
They were the ones who helped me with spreading my collections.
I was really lucky :3
I don’t think I could have continued this hobby without my generous friends.

For you, what is the best thing about collecting?

I feel happiness every time I find a cute combination of the girls.
Pinky parts combinations are almost infinite, you’ll never get tired of it.
I also like taking my girls when ever I go out and take photos of them.
I especially love having photo shoot meets with my good friends.

Which release was your favorite?

I have a lot… but if I need to pick, it’s the Eva Pinky:cos Rei (red eyed repaint PK004).
She is my favorite, forever!
I also love Tamae (PK003).
I didn’t like her at 1st, but later on, I got hooked on her face.
She always seems to tell me something (LOL).

What is the hardest part about collecting? Have you dealt with any problems?

Well, I’m in a situation that I can’t buy toys online.
So, I cannot get the rare ones recently XP
I’m still happy that I can buy the normal releases in some local toy stores.
I need to wait a little to reach here though.
Problems… as of now, I don’t have any :3

What advice would you give to others who want to start collecting Pinky: St?

The problem about starting a Pinky collection is that…once you’ll start, you want to have all! (LOL)
So, good luck on finding them XD
As for local collectors, you can find them in some branches of Rustan’s Toy Department.
I don’t usually go, but I think “Special Toy Center (a.k.a STC)” handles them too.
They stock new releases earlier than Rustan’s.
