Diliman Preparatory School in cooperation with Cosplay.PH is proud to bring you the very first Interscholastic Cosplay Competition on the 10th of February, 2010. The competition will be held at their Commonwealth Avenue campus.
Cosplayers are invited to join as their school representatives in three categories: Grade School, High School and Young Adult (for College and University students).
There will be a separate competition for Diliman Prep students to select their own representative to the competition.
Competitors for the Grade School and High School categories are required to present their school IDs as validation.
They may also need to secure written permission from their respective school principles to certify their positions as school representatives. Prospective contestants should get in touch with both the contest organizers and their school officials for clarification.
Diliman Preparatory School is the one of the first learning institutions in the country to support cosplay as a youth activity, with the opening the first and only Cosplay Museum at their Quezon City campus. The museum has been built and curated with the cooperation of Cosplay.PH.

Awww, wish there was something like this when I was in High School. That would have been fun. 😛

Actually, the Cosplay experience need not be limited to students. I know of several adults who love to create such wonderful unique costumes based on various characters for their children to wear during Halloween, and other special events. But the parents may need more prodding to create and wear their own costumes. It does take an extra an dose of guts to publicly act like a child again.
As far as I understand, Diliman Prep has helped set up the Cosplay Museum, but really anyone from any school and any age can experience the thrill of Cosplay.

Thanks for the tip, Vikky. I should have kept that in mind when I cosplayed just a few months ago. Rest assured, I will remember your comment when I “publicly act like a child again” when I cosplay next.
