Submissions are closed for the 2009 JAL Scholarship Programme, and screening is currently under way for the shortlisted applicants for the Philippine delegation.

Finalists who qualified for the panel interview will be notified via telephone by next week at the earliest.

If the JAL Scholarship Committee for the Philippines allows it, I will try to post the names of the finalists and their home universities, as well as the names of the esteemed individuals who will be making up the panel of judges.

The Japan Airlines Scholarship Programme will run from the 29th of June to the 15th of July, 2009.

The Programme selects young leaders from eleven Asia Pacific countries to fly to Japan and take part in lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities centered around the main theme: “International Cooperation — its achievements and drawbacks.”
