bIT THE HEAT is a summer tech event co-hosted by NET 25’s Convergence and Homepage; the event was held last 2nd April 2009 at the SM North EDSA Food Court. bIT THE HEAT featured games, exhibits, demos, performances by RIVERMAYA, and a technology + animation fashion catwalk with cosplayers from FFX II, GUNDAM 00, D. GRAY-MAN, and many others. The festivities wrapped up with the premiere screening of the Hollywood adaptation of Toriyama Akira’s iconic Japanese manga title DRAGONBALL.

While the crowd and the cosplayers enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the wonderful hospitality of the folks at NET 25, the programme did start off on the wrong foot with an almost half-hour delay before stage activities started. I would like to stress however that this was not the fault of the staff; rather, someone ought to remind several rockstar wannabes that being late for a gig = not cool (and yes, I am referring to you, Mister-New-Rivermaya-Vocalist-Sir -.- ). When the ball got rolling however, things progressed beautifully, with our cosplayers managing the television cameras and the thickening crowds with aplomb and bravado.

Thank you so much again to all the cosplayers who showed up. I personally cannot thank you enough for your infinite patience and your boundless good humour. I’m really happy to get to know you guys, and am really proud of how far you’ve gone in terms of your dedication to the hobby and the effort you’ve put into cosplay.

We’d like to congratulate Ms. Clair, Sir Vlad, and the rest of the Convergence and Homepage cast, crew, and staff for a successful event. We hope you guys had a great time having us over like we did dropping by, and we hope to see you again at your future events 🙂
