In celebration of the 2009 Philippines-Japan Friendship Month, The Embassy of Japan and The Japan Foundation Manila would like to invite all J-pop fans and amateur singers to try out for the J-pop Anime Singing Competition.
Applications start on 9th February and end 20th April 2009. The Grand Finals will be held on 25th July at the Market! Market! Activity Center (MAP).
Registration:
• Contestants must form groups of three to ten amateurs.
• Record a demo CD of your group singing two J-pop or anime songs.
• Download and fill-up the application form from the Embassy website.
• Send the form together with your demo CD to the Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) Library, Embassy of Japan, 2627 Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City (MAP).
Pre-screening
• Only the top ten teams will be asked back to perform during the Grand Finals.
• The criteria for selection is: 35% Voice Quality, 35% Diction and Pronunciation, and 30% Interpretation.
Grand Finals
• Finalists have choice of performing with taped music, singing a capella or playing their own instruments.
• Costumes and choreography are highly encouraged.
• The criteria for judging is is: 30% Voice Quality, 30% Diction and Pronunciation, 20% Interpretation, 10% Stage Presence, and 10% Audience Impact.

i’m afraid not 😦 rules specifically state that it has to be a demo CD. you can send it via next-day local courier to make it by the cut-off tomorrow.
