2008 PCC was one of the more pleasant cons I was genuinely glad to have attended as a moderator for Ongaku Society. The venue was small but well-laid out, and the open circulation meant that all those people crammed together in a small space did not generate as much heat and humidity as — say, the MEGATRADE halls.

This March 28, 2009, the 2nd Philippine Cosplay Convention will once again be held in Robinson’s Place Manila Grand Atrium. It promises to be even bigger with some of the best cosplay costumes on exhibit as well as the never-seen-before Cosplay Costume Contest of the Year 2008: a prestigious segment where the best costumes of 2008 are given recognition and awarded by the community with the help of votes from the Philippine cosplay community.

Of course — owing to the success of last year’s event, that may no longer be the case this year. 2008 was a boom year for the local anime and cosplay community, with one or more cons held each month, and mass media hounding these events every step of the way. PCC should prove to me another milestone event — and I want to be there when the action happens.
