Please note that this event has been postponed to 30th August 2014.
Summers in Japan evoke images of hot nights, cold beer, fireworks, and yukata. Although we pretty much have the first three here in the Philippines, the intricacies of wearing traditional Japanese clothing elude many. STeach would like to dispel part of the mystery, by holding its first yukata kitsuke workshop for women.
The STeach Yukata Kitsuke workshop will be held on 24th August 2014 (Sunday), at Unit 12F Tower B, Cityplace Residences, Reina Regente Street, Binondo, Manila. Classes are scheduled at 9AM to 12NN for the morning session, and 1PM to 4PM for the afternoon session. Lesson fees are at PhP 1000, and are inclusive of a practice yukata set (ladies who own a yukata set are encouraged to bring it for a hands-on experience), printed learning materials, and snacks.
The STeach Yukata Workshop will cover all the basics of wearing a yukata, including proper fit and fall, correct himo and obi tying, and acceptable footwear. The Workshop will also discuss topics on how to properly care for yukata — such as laundry tips, how to fold your yukata for storage, and proper storage techniques. Ladies who will be taking part in the workshop are encouraged to bring their own yukata sets for a hands-on experience.
