Touya Hibiki and Kousaka Yun are Japanese cosplayers who have teamed up in cosplaying characters from Gintama, Uta no Prince-sama, Vocaloid, and many other titles.
The pair flew to Singapore to take part in STGCC 2012 — the Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention, and sat down with a few bloggers for a quick chat during the press preview.
How did you get into cosplay?
Touya Hibiki and Kousaka Yun (TH & KY): We were invited by friends, and we had so much fun we just kept going!
How do you select the characters you cosplay
(TH & KY): We usually cosplay characters we love! Every now and then, though, we swap characters.
(KY): For example, if I like a really cool character I ask Touya to cosplay for me because I am more suited to cute characters.
(TH): And if I like a really moe character I ask Yun to cosplay for me because it looks really good on her.
Cosplay is becoming popular worldwide, and you’ve been gaining a lot of overseas fans — do you consider yourselves popular?
(TH & KY): Absolutely not! We’re just regular people who like to cosplay.
(TH): Like me for example, I cosplay in between work — I don’t think I can just cosplay all the time!
