STGCC 2012 Press Preview Event Report

The Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention (STGCC 2012) slated for the 1st and 2nd of September 2012 at fabulous Marina Bay Sands Singapore, hosted some of the biggest names in American comics and Japanese pop culture.

Prior to the main event, a special press preview was held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center, where friends from press and new media were treated to a small taste of what’s in store for fans over the course of the weekend.

In attendance were comic writer Andy Diggle, artist and toy designer Tristan Eaton, and comic artist Leinel Yu, as well as Japanese cosplayers Kousaka Yun and Hibiki Touya. Aside from Q&As with the audience, Tristan and Lienel also a quick drawing session, where they showed off their artist chops to an admiring and thoroughly impressed audience.

Also at the press preview were a variety of toys and collectibles that were available on sale at the convention — giving fans and collectors a sneak peek of what’s in store. Some of the things that caught our eye were the STGCC exclusive Treesons, the Nanoblock Tintin series, and the aptly-named Hot Toys Captain America: The First Avenger collectible figure (guess which one I eventually bought!).
