As seen in ANN: Bandai will be producing a model kit of the gunship in the film Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. The Nausicaä gunship is the latest release from Bandai’s new Fomania line. The entire process will be overseen by none other than the director of the film and father of Studio Ghibli himself, Miyazaki Hayao.

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind was written and directed by Miyazaki and released in 1984. It tells the story of Nausicaä, princess of the Valley of the Wind. She is a talented pilot and swordsman, and was forced to fight for the survival of the valley and her people from vicious giant insects as well as encroaching neighboring countries.
