World of SPY Nara

World of SPY is a Japanese alternative pop group, selected by the Nara Tourism Board to participate in the promotion and celebration of the city’s 1300th founding year.

World of SPY is composed of international members: Ruth is Japanese, Sean is American, and Patrick is a Filipino-American born in Singapore.

World of SPY has released a video on YouTube for their single “Koito”, a song they composed for Nara’s 1300th anniversary. This video was directed by a local filmmaker and was publicised by Purple — one of Nara’s most widely circulated magazines.

With “Koito” — literally “Beloved Capital”, World of SPY hope to showcase not only musicians from Nara, but also the city’s heritage sites and tourist destinations, for people living abroad including Japanese culture enthusiasts from the Philippines.

You can watch “Koito” on Youtube or at the WoS official website. You can also stay connected with the band on Facebook or MySpace. For more on Nara’s 1300th anniversary celebrations, visit their website www.1300.jp.
