Universal Records Philippines has announced via Facebook that they will be releasing BoA’s newest Japanese album in local stores on 17th April 2010.

This marks the first time a J-pop star has received an official Philippine launch since L’Arc~en~Ciel and Utada Hikaru in the early 2000’s.

Korean songstress BoA first found success on the Japanese pop music scene, where she was seen as one of the contemporaries of pop powerhouses Utada Hikaru, Hamasaki Ayumi, and Kuraki Mai.

Since her success in Japan she has enjoyed mainstream popularity in her native Korea, as well as Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the rest of South East Asia.

Her latest album is one of her biggest releases yet, and will be officially launched in the Philippines on 17th April 2010 at Music One Greenbelt. Purchase BoA’s “Identity” album at the launch and get a free poster & two free picture postcards, while supplies last.
