According to news authority ANN, BONES, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio 4°C, and Toei Animation are animating Halo Legends, an anthology of seven short films based on the FPS HALO.

Some of Japan’s biggest animation geniuses such as Shinji Aramaki (of Appleseed) and Mamoru Oshii (of Ghost in the Shell) are involved in the project. Halo Legends will be released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc, as well as a digital download by 2010. Local Halo fans can expect the DVD to be released in major record bars here (and not as a Japan-only import), similar to other WB titles like The Animatrix and Batman: Gotham Knight.
