The deadline for submission of entries to the 209 JAL Scholarship Programme is this Friday, 20th March 2009. Applicants are asked to submit all requirements to the the Japan Airlines office at 2nd Floor Oledan Square, 6788 Ayala Avenue, Makati City 1226, Metro Manila (MAP).

The JAL Scholarship Programme is a yearly event where young leaders from across the South East Asian region are selected to fly to Tokyo to participate in lectures, talks, and other activities centered around a main theme. The theme for the 2009 Programme is “International Cooperation — its achievements and drawbacks.”

This year’s Programme will run from the 29th of June to the 15th of July, 2009. For additional information, please view the complete list of criteria and requirements.

I still feel honored and privileged to have been selected as one of the Philippine Delegates for the 2000 JAL Scholarship Programme. The Programme gave me my first glimpse of Japan, and it also paved the way to more opportunities for me to experience and study in the country. It is a wonderful opportunity, and I encourage all qualified students to give it a shot 🙂
