Be a Travel Volunteer in Japan!

In a bid to entice tourists back to Japan, a group of concerned citizens from the travel and tourism industry are inviting people to sign up as travel volunteers to tour all forty-seven prefectures in Japan.

As travel volunteers, you will let the entire world know that contrary to most media reports, Japan is as beautiful and as safe as ever for travellers.

The volunteer program will cover 100 days from September to December 2011. All transport, lodging, and food expenses will be shouldered by the organizers, while the volunteers will take care of their visa arrangements and personal expenses. In return for the golden opportunity to travel around Japan for free, the volunteers are expected to keep a travel blog set up and maintained by the organizers.

Applications are open until 31st July 2011. Applicants must be 21 years old and above, are in good physical and mental health, are fluent in English, and have never been to Japan before. Japanese language skills are an advantage but not a requirement. Out of the worldwide pool of applicants, two people will be selected as the official travel volunteers.

To apply, please visit travelvolunteer.net/. A USD 5 fee will be collected for each application sent. The submission fee collected from all applications will be donated to the recovery effort from the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, and do your part to help Japan today 🙂

I gave it a shot. 🙂 Nothing to lose naman… except maybe my job. Then again, I don’t think I’ll be able to afford an all-expense paid trip all over Japan so, go lang. 😀
